Budget: $12,000 - $15,000

Budget sources:

$40/year for plot fee, extra for greenhouse use

No established retail/commercial partners

$500 from Spalding to improve accessibility

Applied for $3,000 grant from Big Dig mitigation funds to improve accessibility


Access requirements/ Security:

ADA accessible to tool shed, accessible plots, and seating area

City leaf mulch deliveries

No regular waste pickup

Shed needs to be locked, but accessible to everyone with plot

-Code lock

Larger door for snow blower

Approximate value of supplies in structure: ~$2,500

Exterior lighting: motion sensor on new shed


Utilities:

Water/Electricity to existing shed

-Water lines ~15 years old


Durability:

Wood structure expected as replacement of existing structure

Typical items in structure: snow blower, lawnmowers, gas, assorted gardening equipment


Zoning: OS-CG (Community Garden Open Space Subdistrict)

Design:

Historical connections of site/community: no attachment to current design

Specific requests:

-Keep access to site welcoming to all

-Site is “gateway to community”

-Keep separation of patio space and garden/shed

-Maintain adequate sunlight on plots
